A to­tal of 26 peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and charged for var­i­ous of­fences dur­ing a po­lice ex­er­cise in Va­len­cia yes­ter­day. Po­lice said one man was held and charged with hav­ing il­lic­it sprits (babash) and keep­ing an il­le­gal brew­ery. A Guyanese na­tion­al, in T&T il­le­gal­ly, al­so was held. Five peo­ple, want­ed on out­stand­ing war­rants, al­so were held while five oth­ers were charged with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­jua­na.

The ex­er­cise, which was held be­tween 4 am and 9 am, was head­ed by Supt Hen­dron Moses and ASP Neville Sankar. Sgts Ray­mond Austin, Nic­ki Williams, act­ing Cpl Ju­nior Bernard, PC Sha­heed Khan and WPC Natasha James as­sist­ed.
