Po­lice are search­ing for two men who al­leged­ly as­sault­ed and robbed a 'PH' taxi dri­ver on Thurs­day. The in­ci­dent oc­curred at around 2.20 pm while Os­bourne Alexan­der was ply­ing his ve­hi­cle for hire from Di­a­mond Vil­lage to Princes Town. He told po­lice two men board­ed his car but on reach­ing the M1 Ring Road, they pulled out firearms and or­dered him to stop.

They robbed Alexan­der of a gold ring and chain val­ued at $4,400 and an undis­closed sum of mon­ey. The men beat Alexan­der be­fore es­cap­ing on foot. He re­port­ed the in­ci­dent the po­lice and was tak­en to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed and dis­charged. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
