Bar patrons ignoring police warnings and continuing to have a merry time were eventually arrested for breaking curfew on Friday night in San Fernando. In an exercise coordinated by ACP Fitzroy Fredericks and Senior Superintendent Deodat Dulalchan, police detained 24 people-ages 19 to 41 years.
Police said 20 of those held were picked up at a popular San Fernando bar: Charlie's on Point-a-Pierre Road. Four others were caught at bars on High Street and Coffee Street. The exercise was supervised by Inspector Charles and executed by acting Sergeant Ramjeewan, acting Sergeant Skelly, acting corporal Burke and officers of the San Fernando Station. Those held are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate tomorrow.
