The late Rev Cyril Paul will be remembered for his provocative sermons, forcing society to look inwards according to chairman of the United National Congress Jack Warner. In a media statement on Paul's passing, Warner said the former president of the Inter-Religious Organisation was not a spiritual leader just to the Presbyterian Synod but to the nation. Warner said: "Rev Paul's devotion to his faith and calling as a minister of God demonstrated genuine selflessness.
"For more than 40 years he directed his energies towards shaping and moulding people's minds, contributing towards the making of a better country, region and world." Warner said Paul's passing is a tremendous loss to the nation and that he will be missed. However, his good works will live on in the lives he touched and guided. He reminded that even in his retirement and in spite of his medical challenges, Paul continued his work in the ministry and ensured that a collection of his most cherished speeches was published in book form; conducted discourses; performed community work and, most importantly, groomed young ministers.
