A 25-year-old soldier was charged with using obscene language and several traffic violations on Wednesday night. Police say the soldier is assigned to the Second Battalion at Teteron, Chaguaramas. A report said officers of the Western Division Task Force noticed that a vehicle was in a no-parking zone and brought it to the driver's attention. Detectives said the soldier allegedly cursed the lawmen and refused to get out of the vehicle.
He was then charged with various offences, including failure to produce identification. Meanwhile, a 63-year-old woman was charged on Wednesday night with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking. She was held during an exercise conducted by officers of the Northern Division Task Force in Tunapuna. The woman was searched and a quantity of marijuana was allegedly found in her underwear.
