Af­ter sev­er­al de­lays and ad­journ­ments, the tri­al of the man ac­cused of mur­der­ing four-year-old Amy Emi­ly An­na­muntho­do is ex­pect­ed to re­sume this morn­ing be­fore Jus­tice An­tho­ny Car­mona in the San Fer­nan­do First Crim­i­nal Court. Mar­lon King, 38, is ac­cused of killing his step­daugh­ter at their Ste Madeleine Road, Union Park East, Mara­bel­la, home on May 15, 2006. Ju­rors in the mur­der tri­al were sent home for the sec­ond time in a week on Fri­day, with­out hear­ing any ev­i­dence in the mat­ter.

The 12-mem­ber ju­ry and six al­ter­nates have not heard any ev­i­dence since a le­gal mat­ter came up dur­ing the ev­i­dence of the State's main wit­ness An­dre An­tho­ny Rocke about three weeks ago. Jus­tice Car­mona, who is ex­pect­ed to give a rul­ing on the le­gal is­sue, has since had to ad­journ the mat­ter for sev­er­al rea­sons. The most re­cent was a faulty air con­di­tion­ing unit in the court­room which caused the mat­ter to be ad­journed last Tues­day. On Fri­day Car­mona again sent the ju­rors home be­cause the air con­di­tion­ing unit was still not ful­ly func­tion­al. He al­so had to pre­side over Cause List mat­ters.
