Students at the Naparima Boys College are set to receive a $2 million gift of an upgraded recreation facility from the school's past students' association. This was revealed by the public relations officer of the Naparima College Past Students' Association, Saad Anthony Baksh, on Sunday at the school's annual breakfast on the charity event.
Baksh, in an interview, said for the past two years the association had pledged to upgrade the school's ground on Lewis Street, San Fernando, so "the students will have somewhere to call their own home ground."President of the association, Fareez Khan, in his welcome remarks at the event, said construction was underway and students could look forward to a swimming pool added to the new facility. Baksh said several charity events were planned to assist in funding the project.
Sunday's event was held in the school's newly-built auditorium which principal Dr Michael Dowlath said would be air-conditioned soon. (RR)
