Princes Town mother Kellyann Seerattan has been missing for five days and her relatives are baffled by her strange disappearance. Seerattan, 25, of 41 Circular Street, Princes Town, was last seen by her child's father Kerwyn Nimchand at around 10 pm on Thursday. Her mother Jassodra Seerattan said Kerwyn picked up their four-month-old baby Kelseigh for the night and returned with the child around 5 pm on Friday. However, when he returned, Kellyann was nowhere to be seen. "Kerwyn is very worried. He is crying and we have been searching for her but nobody knows where she is," Jassodra said. She explained that it was unusual for Kellyann to leave the baby. Before the birth of her child, Kellyann enjoyed liming. However, Jassodra said she is now committed to caring for her infant.
Jassodra said she had a strange feeling something bad had happened to her daughter. "That girl cannot live without her baby. She will never leave the child for a few hours, much less five days. I know she had no conflict with anybody so we do not know what happened to her. Sometimes I feel somebody is holding her against her will. Other times I think she is dead but I don't know for sure. Forgive me for thinking like this but I don't know what to think," Jassodra said. The distraught woman who lives in Tobago said Kellyann was an open person who confided in her. Nothing was missing from Kellyann's home, suggesting she left the house of her own free will. "The house neat and tidy like usual. All of her belongings are there," Jassodra said, adding that she refused to believe Kellyann had abandoned her own child.
She said during their last conversation, Kellyann was going to get the baby's ears pierced. "It is unlike her to leave the child and go for long hours. Five days gone now and she hasn't come back. Before this, we talked almost every day. She tells me everything and when I tried to call her on Thursday I getting her voicemail. She won't leave this baby, I am sure of it," an adamant Jassodra said. She added that relatives have published brochures which are being distributed in several parts of south Trinidad. Checks at various hospitals and in Princes Town and San Fernando have been futile. Anyone with information on Kellyann's whereabouts can contact her family at 724-6906, or 740-9619, or the Princes Town Police Station at 655-2231.
