Police were called into a secondary school in San Fernando yesterday after a male teacher was assaulted by a student.Reports stated that during classes around 11 am, a male student walked up to the mathematics and physics teacher and slapped him several times.
Sources said the teacher immediately proceeded to a senior school official after which a report was made to the police.Officers spent hours counselling the student who is expected to face suspension from school. No charges are expected to be laid.
In September, two Form Three students of a San Fernando school were taken to hospital after an alleged brutal assault at the hands of a schoolmate.A 14-year-old student is now before the San Fernando Magistrates' Court charged with that offence.
