The day after Boxing Day will also be a public holiday.According to the Section 3 (2) of the Public Holidays and Festivals Act Chap 19:05: "Where a public holiday falls on a Sunday or where two holidays fall on the same day, the next following day that (apart from this subsection) is not a public holiday shall be a public holiday."
Christmas Day and Boxing Day fall on Sunday December 25 and Monday December 26 respectively.Therefore, December 27 will be a public holiday.The Employers' Consultative Association (ECA) in a statement advised employers to take cognisance of this and be prepared to treat with it accordingly.
It said: "Christmas Day is Sunday December 25, the Monday immediately following is December 26, which is going to be given as the public holiday for Christmas Day and is also another public holiday, Boxing Day."The ECA issued the statement in response to people who had been questioning whether December 27 will be a public holiday.
