Ch­agua­nas West MP Jack Warn­er has sug­gest­ed the use of trainee po­lice of­fi­cers dur­ing the Christ­mas sea­son to cre­ate a high po­lice vis­i­bil­i­ty. Warn­er was speak­ing with re­porters yes­ter­day when he dis­trib­uted $50,000 in home im­prove­ment grants to his con­stituents. Warn­er said he plans on writ­ing the Min­is­ter of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty with this sug­ges­tion. Warn­er said since the traf­fic war­dens fall un­der his min­istry he plans on hav­ing more traf­fic war­dens in Ch­agua­nas for the Christ­mas sea­son to deal with the an­nu­al traf­fic night­mare that plagues the busy cen­tral bor­ough.

Warn­er called for vig­i­lance by mem­bers of the pub­lic and busi­ness­men to keep crime and crim­i­nals at bay. He sug­gest­ed that shop­pers do not flash too much jew­el­ry and cash when do­ing shop­ping and in­stead try to con­duct trans­ac­tions via elec­tron­ic means when­ev­er pos­si­ble. Warn­er said busi­ness­men should al­so con­sid­er hav­ing se­cu­ri­ty per­son­nel col­lect large sums of cash or de­posit rather than walk with bags of mon­ey to the bank. Warn­er said he plans on hav­ing a meet­ing with the rel­e­vant busi­ness or­gan­i­sa­tions in his con­stituen­cy to dis­cuss se­cu­ri­ty mea­sures for the up­com­ing hol­i­day sea­son.

Warn­er said the 13 po­lice bays con­struct­ed along the high­way should be­come op­er­a­tional be­fore the end of the year. He said his min­istry was re­spon­si­ble for the con­struc­tion while the Min­istry of Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty and Hous­ing and the En­vi­ron­ment is re­spon­si­ble for out­fit­ting the bays. Warn­er said his con­stituents were ful­ly in sup­port of the cur­few and in­di­cat­ed they would sup­port it if it comes around again. He said to the best of his knowl­edge no one had been ar­rest­ed in Ch­agua­nas West for break­ing the cur­few. Grants were giv­en to Koobir Dadal Lakraj, Car­lo Fran­cis, Shar­ma Jabar, In­dra Jadoo and Rukhmin Valen­tine.
