DUBAI, Unit­ed Arab Emi­rates – Vet­er­an West In­dies left-han­der Shiv Chan­der­paul has risen just one place to sixth in the lat­est ICC bat­ting rank­ings, de­spite stroking a cen­tu­ry against In­dia in the first Test in Del­hi last week.The 38-year-old Chan­der­paul lashed 118, his 24th Test hun­dred, to give West In­dies the ear­ly ad­van­tage. He al­so top scored with 47 in the sec­ond in­nings but West In­dies still lost by five wick­ets.

Chan­der­paul is be­hind fifth placed Sachin Ten­dulkar who re­mained un­moved de­spite his 76 in In­dia's sec­ond in­nings.Sri Lankan stroke-mak­er Ku­mar San­gakkara has tak­en over top spot in the bat­ting, re­plac­ing South African Jacques Kallis.Styl­ish West In­dies left-han­der Dar­ren Bra­vo and dogged right-han­der Kirk Ed­wards have both moved one place up to 42nd and 51st re­spec­tive­ly.

In the bowl­ing, speed­ster Fi­del Ed­wards is the high­est ranked West In­dies play­er, re­main­ing un­moved at 20th.Cap­tain and medi­um pac­er Dar­ren Sam­my, mean­while, fell two places to 24th, while leg-spin­ner De­ven­dra Bishoo and pac­er Ke­mar Roach re­mained stuck at 38th and 39th re­spec­tive­ly.
