A 54-year-old San Juan labour­er has been placed on $70,000 bail af­ter be­ing charged with drug traf­fick­ing. Sel­wyn Ma­gloire, of Quar­ry Road, San Juan, was not called up­on to plead when he ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Deb­bie Ann Bas­saw in the Port-of-Spain Mag­is­trates' Court on Fri­day. Ma­gloire was ar­rest­ed at his home on Wednes­day with pos­ses­sion of al­most two ki­los of mar­i­jua­na and more than $7,000 in cash.

Ma­gloire was rep­re­sent­ed by at­tor­ney Richard Clarke-Wills who told the court that his client was con­vict­ed 14 years ago for a sim­i­lar of­fense. He was or­dered to re­port to the Barataria Po­lice Sta­tion twice a week and the mat­ter was ad­journed to De­cem­ber 1.
