A 54-year-old San Juan labourer has been placed on $70,000 bail after being charged with drug trafficking. Selwyn Magloire, of Quarry Road, San Juan, was not called upon to plead when he appeared before Magistrate Debbie Ann Bassaw in the Port-of-Spain Magistrates' Court on Friday. Magloire was arrested at his home on Wednesday with possession of almost two kilos of marijuana and more than $7,000 in cash.
Magloire was represented by attorney Richard Clarke-Wills who told the court that his client was convicted 14 years ago for a similar offense. He was ordered to report to the Barataria Police Station twice a week and the matter was adjourned to December 1.
