A 23-year-old Tarouba man is fighting for his life after being stabbed during a dispute with a close male relative on Saturday. Devon Shipley, of Raffique Jumadeen Drive, is listed in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit of the San Fernando General Hospital where he is being treated for stab wounds to the stomach. A 51-year-old male relative has been detained for questioning by police.
According to police reports, Shipley and the relative spent Friday night liming together and returned to their Tarouba home around 3 am Saturday. An argument broke out between the two and a fight ensued. Police said a man then grabbed a knife and dealt Shipley two stabs to the stomach. Insp Anthony Charles and Cpl Dale Ramroop are continuing investigations.
