A police exercise in Barataria on Tuesday night has resulted in the arrest of a Morvant man who was wanted by police in connection with a murder and kidnapping.The exercise, which was conducted along the Priority Bus Route from 10 pm and lasted several hours, was headed by Cpl Sunil Bharath.Police said the 32-year-old suspect, of Upper Pashley Street, Laventille, was arrested while driving a vehicle along the bus route.
He is wanted in connection with the kidnapping and murder of a Chinapoo Village, Morvant, resident, last year. Police also issued 27 tickets for traffic offences and impounded two vehicles which were believed to be stolen.The suspect and the vehicles were taken to the Morvant Police Station.The exercise was headed by Superintendent John Daniel and included Cpl Kevin Franktom, PCs Trevor Rambaran and Nicholas Martin, all of the North Eastern Division Task Force.
