A Moruga man who pleaded guilty to possession of 1.5 kilogrammes of marijuana has been given three months to pay a $20,000 fine.Celestine Patrice, who was arrested in a road block on Tuesday, appeared before Princes Town Magistrate Margaret Alert later that day.
The court heard that officers from the Moruga Police Station stopped Patrice's vehicle at La Lune Road, Moruga, and upon searching found a black bag containing the marijuana which had an estimated street value of $15,000.
The magistrate ordered Celestine to pay $5,000 in three weeks and the balance within three months. If he fails to pay the fine, he will serve six months in jail.
