The po­lice­man who re­port­ed­ly re­fused to as­sist a rape vic­tim com­plainant at the Mor­vant Po­lice Sta­tion has been served with a no­tice of in­tend­ed dis­ci­pli­nary pro­ceed­ings. Pub­lic in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer of the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice, Sgt Wayne Mys­tar, said so at yes­ter­day's dai­ly news con­fer­ence at the Po­lice Ad­min­is­tra­tion Build­ing, Port-of-Spain. The of­fi­cer now has sev­en days to re­spond.

Last week, PNM Sen­a­tor Pen­ne­lope Beck­les Robin­son called on Na­tion­al Se­cu­ri­ty Min­is­ter John Sandy to in­ves­ti­gate the baulked re­port. The plain­tiff had gone to the sta­tion to re­port a crim­i­nal as­sault by two men. It was re­port­ed, how­ev­er, that a po­lice of­fi­cer re­fused to al­low the naked woman en­try. "He was served with the no­tice last week. He has sev­en days to re­spond and in­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing," Mys­tar said.
