The mu­ti­lat­ed, charred re­mains of a woman was found in an un­oc­cu­pied bun­ga­low on Petrotrin's Pointe-a-Pierre com­pound yes­ter­day morn­ing.Up to late yes­ter­day po­lice had not iden­ti­fied the woman or de­ter­mined how she end­ed up in the bun­ga­low at Carib Val­ley, Pointe-a-Pierre.The dis­cov­ery was made short­ly af­ter 9 am yes­ter­day fol­low­ing a tip-off from an anony­mous caller to the St Mar­garet's Po­lice Sta­tion.

The Mara­bel­la Po­lice Sta­tion was sub­se­quent­ly in­formed and a par­ty of of­fi­cers re­spond­ed.Po­lice said the body was found in the down­stairs of the bun­ga­low, mi­nus the arms. One arm was found in the porch while the oth­er was found on the lawn. The Dis­trict Med­ical Of­fi­cer, who viewed the body, be­lieves the woman had been dead for at least three days. He al­so sug­gest­ed the arms might have been ripped off by an an­i­mal.

The body was burnt be­yond recog­ni­tion but a woman's sil­ver watch found on one the arms led po­lice to be­lieve it was a fe­male corpse.Po­lice cor­doned off the area and con­duct­ed a search but no weapons or flam­ma­ble sub­stances were found. Po­lice yes­ter­day were check­ing their miss­ing per­sons re­port in an at­tempt to iden­ti­fy the body.Mara­bel­la Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
