Bur­dened by un­em­ploy­ment and do­mes­tic woes, a Pe­nal man was dis­cov­ered dead in what po­lice deemed as a sui­cide. The life­less body of Dharen­dra Singh, 54, of Scott's Road was dis­cov­ered by his wife Vidya Singh, 27, around 2 pm on Fri­day. Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, Singh had just re­turned home and up­on search­ing for her hus­band, found him hang­ing from by a rope at­tached to a rafter in their bath­room. Of­fi­cers from the Pe­nal Po­lice Sta­tion said there were no signs of vi­o­lence and ruled out foul play. They said he had be­come de­pressed in re­cent times.

A post mortem is card­ed for Mon­day at the mor­tu­ary at the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal. PC Noel is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion.
