Soca artiste in court for ganja possession
A popular soca artiste is expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today for marijuana possession. He was among eight people arrested yesterday morning during an exercise conducted by police officers following the “Girlz Gone White” fete at Twin Walls, South Trunk Road, La Romain. Officers said the artiste, who had performed at the fete, was arrested for possession of less than one gram of marijuana during the exercise conducted by officers from the San Fernando Police Station between 2 am and 7 am.
They also arrested six people for failing breathalyser tests and one person was arrested for resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer. Meanwhile 13 people are expected to appear in the Chaguanas Magistrates Court today after being arrested on outstanding warrants. They were arrested in Enterprise on Saturday night during an exercise conducted by officers from the Chaguanas Police Station.
