Thieves pilfer from Chaguanas puja store

Central Police are searching for two men who robbed a 13-year old student on Wednesday. The boy, a student of Cunupia High School, was walking west along Hassarath Road, Cunupia, on Wednesday afternoon when he was approached by two men, one of them armed with a knife.  The armed suspect told the teenager: “Empty your pockets...now!” They robbed the boy of a Blu cell phone then escaped on foot.  Police are also investigating a break-in at a Chaguanas puja store in which thieves made off with $18,800 in cash and goods. 
 
The 50-year old proprietor told police she secured the business place at Montrose on Tuesday evening. When she returned on Wednesday morning she discovered it had been broken into and 12 cases of religious incense valued $10,800 and $8,000 in cash were missing. In another break-in at the Carapichaima home of a 24-year old man, $22,000 in cash and valuables were stolen. On Wednesday the man discovered his Waterloo Road home had been broken into. Missing were his Sony Play Station valued at $3,000, a DVD player valued at $1,000, a Blu Ray player valued at $3,000, two laptops worth $10,000, a Sharp TV worth $5,000 and a quantity of jewelry. Investigations are continuing.
