Works Minister Jack Warner’s football problems including the latest T&T Football Federation issue will engage the Prime Minister’s attention “in due course” once Government gets all sides of the story, Information Minister Suruj Rambachan said yesterday. Rambachan was responding following Cabinet yesterday. He was asked about the impact on the Government caused by Warner’s latest issue with the TTFF. National football players levied on the TTFF on Wednesday seeking $4 million in monies alleged to be owed. The players also claim that former TTFF special adviser Warner promised them 50 per cent of all World Cup revenues.

Rambachan said Government would follow up on the TTFF issue. Asked if the situation would further worsen Warner’s standing—and his FIFA woes—and by extension affect the Government, Rambachan said he wanted to know “all the sides of the story.” “It’s a matter that Government will study of course, but you must have all sides of the story before arriving at any conclusion and I think it is something that will engage the attention of the Prime Minister in due course,” Rambachan added.
