Senior Supt Solomon Koon Koon, of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, said no directive was given for the raid at Newsday's office on Thursday. He said it was part of an ongoing investigation. Officers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau swooped down on Newsday's office and at the home of political reporter, Andre Bagoo, and seized three of his personal computers and two flash drives. The officers also questioned members of staff at Newsday's office in connection with possible breaches of the Integrity in Public Life Act. "The Anti-Corruption Bureau is an arm of the Police Service and we report to the Commissioner of Police...We do not report to the Attorney General," Koon Koon said yesterday. He said Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs would not have been aware that the bureau was planning to search the offices of the newspaper. Koon Koon said: "Nobody gave the directive. It was part of the investigative process and nobody gave a directive to do it. We have a copy of the warrant. "If you don't do it you are damned and if you do, also you are damned. I do my work and let them talk. According to Ian Alleyne don't hurt your head," he said.
