Barataria robber shot with own gun
A Barataria robber was shot with his own gun by one of his victims. The gunman, a 27-year-old man of Sixth Avenue and Ninth Street, and his victims Nicholas Steven Marshall, 21, and Roger Daniels, 29, are all warded in stable conditions at Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. The gunman’s accomplice, a 20-year-old woman of Alexander Street, Longdenville, is in custody at the Chaguanas Police Station. The officers also recovered a firearm.
A police report stated that around 10.40 pm Marshall and Daniels, both of Egg Street, Montrose, were liming on the street when a white car pulled up. A man armed with a gun and a woman alighted, robbed both men of their cellphones and shot them. The two friends began fighting with the gunman, during which Marshall managed to get the gun from the assailant and opened fire on him. The suspect is under police guard. Upon his release he will be charged with a series of offences including robbery and possession of arms and ammunition. Charges are also expected to be laid against the woman.
