Four com­mis­sion­ers of the Po­lice Ser­vice Com­mis­sion are deny­ing any rift be­tween them and Chair­man Prof Ramesh De­osaran over the re­cent ap­praisal of Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Dwayne Gibbs and Deputy Com­mis­sion­ers Jack Ewats­ki and Stephen Williams. A joint state­ment is­sued by the com­mis­sion­ers yes­ter­day said: "There is no split in the Com­mis­sion con­cern­ing the ap­praisal giv­en to the Com­mis­sion­er and the Deputy Com­mis­sion­ers of Po­lice."

The com­mis­sion­ers said: "De­spite the ap­praisals, if cur­rent in­ves­ti­ga­tions re­veal the ne­ces­si­ty to do so, the Com­mis­sion can still take such ac­tion as it deems nec­es­sary against them or any of them." The com­mis­sion­ers said: "We fur­ther state that the Chair­man of the Po­lice Ser­vice Com­mis­sion and the oth­er four mem­bers are in full agree­ment with the clar­i­fi­ca­tion is­sued." "All mem­bers of the Com­mis­sion con­tin­ue to have full con­fi­dence in the Chair­man, Prof Ramesh De­osaran, and the Po­lice Ser­vice Com­mis­sion con­tin­ues to be a unit­ed team un­der his ex­cel­lent lead­er­ship."
