Four commissioners of the Police Service Commission are denying any rift between them and Chairman Prof Ramesh Deosaran over the recent appraisal of Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs and Deputy Commissioners Jack Ewatski and Stephen Williams. A joint statement issued by the commissioners yesterday said: "There is no split in the Commission concerning the appraisal given to the Commissioner and the Deputy Commissioners of Police."
The commissioners said: "Despite the appraisals, if current investigations reveal the necessity to do so, the Commission can still take such action as it deems necessary against them or any of them." The commissioners said: "We further state that the Chairman of the Police Service Commission and the other four members are in full agreement with the clarification issued." "All members of the Commission continue to have full confidence in the Chairman, Prof Ramesh Deosaran, and the Police Service Commission continues to be a united team under his excellent leadership."
