The teenaged son of a policeman appeared in the court yesterday charged with possession of arms and ammunition, trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana. The 16-year-old, who was accompanied by his father when he appeared before Deputy Chief Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan in the San Fernando First Court, was granted $200,000 bail to cover all the charges.

He was among three men held in a house at Charles Street, La Romaine on Saturday and is jointly charged with Rawlins Mohammed for possession of a 9 mm pistol, 41 rounds of ammunition, cocaine for trafficking and marijuana possession. Mohammed was not brought to court yesterday as he is being treated at the San Fernando General Hospital, court prosecutor Ramdath Phillip said.

The other man, Keleigh Vincent, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of marijuana. He was denied bail pending a trace of his criminal record. The matter was adjourned to Thursday.
