West­ern Di­vi­sion Po­lice have seized a quan­ti­ty of high grade co­caine, four il­le­gal guns and ap­prox­i­mate­ly 47 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion dur­ing raids in Diego Mar­tin on Wednes­day. Po­lice said around 10.30 am on Wednes­day a par­ty of of­fi­cers, led by In­spec­tor Hen­ry Dann and Ben­jamin, Sgt Clarke, Cpl Pan­cho and PCs Her­nan­dez and Bernard of the West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force, re­ceived in­for­ma­tion and went to a shack on Sec­ond Trace, Bagatelle, where they seized 280 grammes of co­caine and one .38 pis­tol loaded with four rounds of am­mu­ni­tion.

They ar­rest­ed three men, ages 25, 20 and 19, of Bagatelle, in con­nec­tion with that seizure. Fol­low­ing up on in­for­ma­tion, the team of of­fi­cers went to an aban­doned house in an area, called the "Pine", at Bagatelle around 2.30 pm where they found an­oth­er .38 pis­tol and 43 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion. No one was ar­rest­ed. The same par­ty of of­fi­cers went to an aban­doned lot at Cizan Trace, Blue Basin, at around 6 pm and re­cov­ered a .38 re­volver.

The of­fi­cers al­so searched sev­er­al hous­es in the Diego Mar­tin area but noth­ing fur­ther was found. Mean­while, Cus­toms and Ex­cise of­fi­cers have seized five guns which they said were il­le­gal­ly im­port­ed in­to the coun­try. Cus­toms of­fi­cers said they seized three AK 47 as­sault ri­fles, two 9mm sub-ma­chine guns and a quan­ti­ty of am­mu­ni­tion. They ar­rest­ed a 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman. Charges are ex­pect­ed to be laid against them.
