A police exercise in the Southern Division has resulted in the arrest of 40 persons and issued dozens of tickets over a period of two days. The raids and road blocks which ran from 6 am on Friday into Saturday afternoon were coordinated by Senior Supt Lewis, Supt Maynard and ASP Mohammed. Officers descended upon hotspots in San Fernando, Princes Town, Tableland, Gasparillo and St Mary’s.
Out of the 40 arrested that were made 30 persons were held on outstanding warrants, eight for possession of narcotics, five for robberies and four for driving under the influence of alcohol. The exercises were injury free and all detainees are expected to appear at the Princes Town and San Fernando Magistrate Courts.
