Port-of-Spain Mayor Louis Lee Sing was right in sending his letter questioning the leadership of the PNM when he did. To all who viewed the no-confidence debate, it was certainly apparent that it was totally irrelevant and what was achieved could have been accomplished through the normal parliamentary process. It showed that the Leader of the Opposition cannot be objective in his thinking and is prone to over-the-top measures.
This fact was compounded when he was forced to issue an apology to the Attorney General for making false accusations against him. The nature of the accusations is very serious and and damning, and could have had long lasting consequences.
The Leader of the Opposition, even when faced with serious doubts surrounding his "facts," still went ahead and made the accusation. This speaks volumes to his level of responsibility, or lack thereof, and his awareness of his role.
We cannot and should not accept this level of irresponsibility from people who aspire to lead us.
