Yara sent out a strong message in their first game against Nu Iron, winning by 70 runs from just 4.3 overs in the opening fixture of the Super Industrial Services Limited Industrial Cricket League. Nu Iron batting first made 68 all out with A Mohammed getting 27 runs. R Suragbally bowling for Yara was the pick of the bowlers with 3/4. In reply, Yara made 70 for one in 4.3 overs with A Tokhai getting 39 and Surajbally returning with the bat to score 27. In another game, T&TEC had the better of NGC by 59 runs. R Adam was in fine form with the bat scoring 59 to lead his team to 123 for six off their 10 overs. In reply, NGC was restricted to 64 for eight with Sean Siloch topscoring with 13. K Jacobs was the star of the show for T&TEC claiming 3/13. Also on winners row in the opening round was IGL who for the better of hosts SIS by four wickets. SIS batted first and tallied 73 for four off their ten overs. S Sakawat with 23 was the top-scorer. IGL then cruised to victory at 76/7 with K Joseph slamming 27 and R Sooman 18. Sakawat claimed 2/5 for SIS but did not receive the support from the others to close out the win.
