Yara sent out a strong mes­sage in their first game against Nu Iron, win­ning by 70 runs from just 4.3 overs in the open­ing fix­ture of the Su­per In­dus­tri­al Ser­vices Lim­it­ed In­dus­tri­al Crick­et League. Nu Iron bat­ting first made 68 all out with A Mo­hammed get­ting 27 runs. R Surag­bal­ly bowl­ing for Yara was the pick of the bowlers with 3/4. In re­ply, Yara made 70 for one in 4.3 overs with A Tokhai get­ting 39 and Sura­jbal­ly re­turn­ing with the bat to score 27. In an­oth­er game, T&TEC had the bet­ter of NGC by 59 runs. R Adam was in fine form with the bat scor­ing 59 to lead his team to 123 for six off their 10 overs. In re­ply, NGC was re­strict­ed to 64 for eight with Sean Siloch top­scor­ing with 13. K Ja­cobs was the star of the show for T&TEC claim­ing 3/13. Al­so on win­ners row in the open­ing round was IGL who for the bet­ter of hosts SIS by four wick­ets. SIS bat­ted first and tal­lied 73 for four off their ten overs. S Sakawat with 23 was the top-scor­er. IGL then cruised to vic­to­ry at 76/7 with K Joseph slam­ming 27 and R Sooman 18. Sakawat claimed 2/5 for SIS but did not re­ceive the sup­port from the oth­ers to close out the win.
