An in­mate at the Port-of-Spain State Prison was re­cap­tured by po­lice mo­ments af­ter his es­cape yes­ter­day. Po­lice said the man, who is await­ing tri­al for lar­ce­ny, was re­mand­ed in cus­tody by a San Fer­nan­do mag­is­trate on Tues­day. At around 9.45 am yes­ter­day, two of­fi­cers from the Port-of-Spain CID were on pa­trol on Pem­broke Street when they re­ceived in­for­ma­tion that a man had jumped over the walls of the prison on Fred­er­ick Street.

The of­fi­cers saw the 18-year-old sus­pect run­ning near Lord Har­ris Square. He was held and tak­en back to the prison.
