Minister of Tobago Development Vernella Alleyne-Toppin said she would not be resign her post because her work speaks for her. She spoke at a press conference at the Mt Irvine Beach Hotel, Tobago, yesterday. She said: "Compared to the kind of work I am doing and the work I can do we have to weigh the two against one another and I have not done anything wrong but I do not want to say anything else on this matter.
"I have said much on this matter already and so have some of my colleagues. "I feel completely vindicated. I used the card as it was prescribed. My party and I have an excellent relationship and I am in support of the principle of integrity in public life as my party espouses." Alleyne–Toppin said no member of her family ever used the Government-issued card.
