Min­is­ter of To­ba­go De­vel­op­ment Ver­nel­la Al­leyne-Top­pin said she would not be re­sign her post be­cause her work speaks for her. She spoke at a press con­fer­ence at the Mt Irvine Beach Ho­tel, To­ba­go, yes­ter­day. She said: "Com­pared to the kind of work I am do­ing and the work I can do we have to weigh the two against one an­oth­er and I have not done any­thing wrong but I do not want to say any­thing else on this mat­ter.

"I have said much on this mat­ter al­ready and so have some of my col­leagues. "I feel com­plete­ly vin­di­cat­ed. I used the card as it was pre­scribed. My par­ty and I have an ex­cel­lent re­la­tion­ship and I am in sup­port of the prin­ci­ple of in­tegri­ty in pub­lic life as my par­ty es­pous­es." Al­leyne–Top­pin said no mem­ber of her fam­i­ly ever used the Gov­ern­ment-is­sued card.
