The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort in Tobago hit the streets of Trinidad recently for a three-day promotional blitz in which a sales team of six, including general manager Vince Angelo, visited more than 90 organisations, television broadcasting networks, radio stations and newspapers promoting the opening of the resort.
"We split into three teams of two and armed with flyers, rates, contact information and Magdalena Grand Beach Resort souvenir coffee mugs, we took to the streets of Trinidad on a three-day informational tour," said Angelo.
"Since we possess the largest banquet facility on the island of Tobago and one of the largest in the Caribbean, we wanted to inform our close neighbours in Trinidad of the space, especially key individuals who are decision makers for booking rooms and business events for their organisations."
With more than 5,500 square feet of meeting space, including the Scarborough Ballroom with 4,671 square feet of column-free space accommodating parties of up to 500 or banquets of up to 180, local businesses were encouraged to take the short plane flight over to Tobago for retreats, board meetings, team building sessions and trainings.
During the blitz week, Angelo appeared on three morning television shows, including CCN TV6, CNMG Morning Show and TV3 Morning Show; two radio interviews with Hott 93 morning host George Wayne and DJ Jus Jase with the Caribbean Super Station; and finished up the week with a press interview.
"The goal of the media appearances was to inform the public about features, special packages and the fabulous service that the Magdalena Grand Beach Resort in Tobago provides," Angelo said.
