A to­tal of 48 peo­ple were ar­rest­ed be­tween Thurs­day and yes­ter­day dur­ing a po­lice ex­er­cise in north Trinidad. The ex­er­cise was con­duct­ed in Mal­oney, Tu­na­puna, Arou­ca and Ari­ma be­tween 10 pm Thurs­day and 5 am yes­ter­day. It was co-or­di­nat­ed by ACP Ter­ry Young and led by Sr Supt David Abra­ham.

A 23-year-old man, who was be­ing sought for sev­er­al bur­glar­ies in Bam­boo Set­tle­ment Num­ber Three, was cap­tured yes­ter­day by the po­lice. The sus­pect was held in Bam­boo Set­tle­ment around noon yes­ter­day. A num­ber of res­i­dents had com­plained that the sus­pect had bro­ken in­to their homes.

Yes­ter­day, Sgt Charles and a par­ty of of­fi­cers vis­it­ed the area and ar­rest­ed the sus­pect. He was tak­en to the St Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion for ques­tion­ing.
