A three-vehicle accident, involving two trucks and a car, led to a traffic gridlock in St James yesterday. The accident occurred around 11.10 am, when a truck, driven by an army private, which was heading east along the Western Main Road, crashed into a concrete barrier near Fort George Road pushing it into the path of an oncoming truck loaded with goods.
The goods truck, which was driven by Brian Sampson, 34, of La Seiva Road, Maraval, also hit the median and overturned. The truck driven by the army private then collided with a silver Wingroad driven by Shiva Durgasingh, 47, of Eastern Main Road, Laventille and fell on its side. All three drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where they were treated and discharged.
