A J'Ouvert reveller was held with a loaded gun during the Point Fortin Borough celebrations yesterday morning. Police said that might have been the most serious incident, but there were several fights and other violent incidents from Friday night into yesterday morning.
Police said the 23-year-old Tunapuna man was expected to be charged with possession of arms and ammunition and appear before a Point Fortin Magistrate tomorrow. According to a police report, the officers were on duty along the Main Road when they observed the man acting suspiciously.
They approached and on searching him found a .38 revolver and five rounds of ammunition in his possession. He was taken to the Point Fortin Police Station where he was expected to be charged. Investigations are continuing.
