No ar­rests have been made so far in con­nec­tion with the mur­der of Niki­ta Ramis­c­hand. This was stat­ed yes­ter­day by pub­lic in­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer of the Po­lice Ser­vice Sgt Wayne Mys­tar. He was speak­ing at yes­ter­day's dai­ly news brief­ing at the Po­lice Ad­min­is­tra­tion Build­ing in Port-of-Spain.

Ramis­c­hand, 18, was stabbed to death at her fam­i­ly's home at Mara­cas Roy­al Road, St Joseph on April 25. She was an ac­counts stu­dent at the School of Busi­ness and Com­put­er Sci­ence, Champs Fleurs. In­ves­ti­gat­ing of­fi­cers be­lieve she was killed by a jilt­ed lover who is Guyanese and is re­port­ed to be hid­ing out in his home­land.

"No sus­pects are in cus­tody and the Trinidad and To­ba­go po­lice of­fi­cers and the Guyanese po­lice are work­ing close­ly to get some leads," Mys­tar said. Last week de­tec­tives went to an apart­ment in Fe­lic­i­ty where the sus­pect lived but did not dis­cov­er any clues to his where­abouts. They al­so in­ter­viewed sev­er­al peo­ple in the com­mu­ni­ty, in­clud­ing the land­lord.
