A 36-year-old labourer who was shot and robbed of his gold chain in Marabella on Saturday remains in critical condition at the San Fernando General Hospital. Police are searching for the man who shot Marlon Alexander, of Mon Repos, and bystander Ricardo Glasgow, 24, of Sangre Grande, at around 5 am on the Southern Main Road.
Eyewitnesses said Alexander was standing outside a sports bar when he was accosted by a man armed with a gun. Alexander ran a short distance before he was shot twice in the back. Police said the gunman lifted Alexander off the ground and shot him in the abdomen, then snatched his gold chain and fled. Glasgow, who was standing nearby, was hit on his right elbow by a stray bullet. He is warded in a stable condition.
