The Government will spend close to $13 million in an effort to develop Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook, into a must-see tourist location. This was revealed by Minister of Tourism Dr Rupert Griffith, who added that the plan would take about three years to complete. He said some of the plans for the new look included the planting of trees, proper signs and food courts.
Griffith was speaking at the 32nd Multiple District Convention of Lions International at the Hyatt Regency, Port-of-Spain, on Wednesday afternoon. He said the food vendors who serviced the area would be incorporated into the plan, but hinted that there might be some new players in that arena as well. At this stage, he said, there were still several discussions to be held with various stakeholders. "It is going to be a beautification of the area," he said.
