Almost three weeks after he wrote to the Police Service Commission (PSC) saying he refused to sign his performance appraisal because it was seriously flawed, Deputy Police Commissioner Jack Ewatski is yet to receive a response from the commission.
Ewatski, who outlined the reasons for his refusal in a six-page letter, dated February 29, 2012, wrote: "My refusal to sign the appraisal was rooted in my belief that the process used to evaluate my performance was seriously flawed, rendering the results invalid."
When contacted yesterday Ewatski said he was still awaiting a response from the commission to issues raised in the letter. He said he received a letter from the commission acknowledging his letter. Saying he was committed to enhancing the Police Service, Ewatski added he had always been committed to working with the commission.
Prof Ramesh Deosaran could not be reached for comment yesterday as the T&T Guardian was told he was engaged in all-day meetings.
