For­mer prime min­is­ter Patrick Man­ning is set to re­turn to T&T soon. This was re­vealed by Man­ning's per­son­al pro­to­col of­fi­cer Wendy Lewis yes­ter­day. Man­ning, the MP for San Fer­nan­do East, has been in the Unit­ed States since Feb­ru­ary 6 re­ceiv­ing phys­io­ther­a­py af­ter suf­fer­ing a mild stroke in Jan­u­ary.

Con­tact­ed for com­ment yes­ter­day, Lewis said Man­ning was do­ing "mirac­u­lous­ly well, he is speak­ing much bet­ter, he is mak­ing jokes and laugh­ing aloud." Man­ning was tak­en to San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal on Jan­u­ary 24 af­ter com­plain­ing of feel­ing un­well. He was grant­ed ex­tend­ed leave from Par­lia­ment be­cause of his con­di­tion.
