Former prime minister Patrick Manning is set to return to T&T soon. This was revealed by Manning's personal protocol officer Wendy Lewis yesterday. Manning, the MP for San Fernando East, has been in the United States since February 6 receiving physiotherapy after suffering a mild stroke in January.
Contacted for comment yesterday, Lewis said Manning was doing "miraculously well, he is speaking much better, he is making jokes and laughing aloud." Manning was taken to San Fernando General Hospital on January 24 after complaining of feeling unwell. He was granted extended leave from Parliament because of his condition.
