Ten Movement for Social Justice (MSJ) appointees to state boards have heeded a call from the party's political leader, David Abdulah, to resign because of concerns over the issue of governance under the People's Partnership Government. Abdulah made the call during a news conference hosted by the MSJ on the eve of the May 24 second-anniversary rally of the PP. A release issued by MSJ's general secretary, Ozzi Warwick, said yesterday the MSJ appointees who quit were on Boards of:
• Lake Asphalt
• NP
• Petrotrin
• T&TEC
• UTT
• NEDCO
• iGovTT
• Livestock and Livestock Products
• The Export Centres Company
Warwick said the MSJ was reiterating "its commitment to the principles of good governance." He said the labour-based party, which is one of the five-member PP coalition, "stands by its statement that there is a great need to change that system of governance."
