San Fernando has lost one of its prominent sons with the death of senior retired magistrate Hollick Edward Harnarayan. Harnarayan died peacefully in his sleep on Thursday at the age of 95 and leaves to mourn his wife Esther and sons Sastri, Patrick and David.
Harnarayan was granted the Medal of Merit in the 1980s for his long and outstanding meritorious service in the field of law. He was also former chairman of the Rent Assessment Board in South Trinidad and a member of the Public Service Appeal Board. He also acted as Chief Magistrate. Harnarayan's funeral is expected to take place from 11 am today at the Susamachar Presbyterian Church at Carib Street, San Fernando. This will be followed by a cremation at Belgrove's Funeral Home, Coffee Street, San Fernando.
