The first of several free medical clinics in the San Fernando West constituency was held at Bayshore Sporting Complex, Marabella, on Saturday. Public Administration Minister and MP for the area, Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan, who organised the clinics, in a statement as said: "Over the past year, many constituents told me they wanted medical help for themselves and their children."
Seepersad-Bachan said she got support from several sources, including the National Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Programme (NADAPP) and the Ministry of Health. The release said more than 700 men, women and children were attended to. The clinic offered blood-pressure and blood-sugar testing, breast examinations, Pap smear tests and dental check-ups.
