Couva North MP Ramona Ramdial has promised to get rid of stray animals roaming near the site of the Temple in the Sea at Waterloo. Ramdial said so as she and Tourism Minister Stephen Cadiz visited several attractions in central Trinidad to explore tourism in the area.
Ramdial said dogcatchers had been called in from the Princes Town Regional Corporation to help remove stray animals, which had been an eyesore to visitors to the historic site. Cadiz said his ministry hoped to market central Trinidad in a tour package which included heritage sites and ecotourism.
He said he wanted to get the Exchange Shiv Mandir declared a heritage site and would be seeking to partner with various organisations to make the site more attractive to visitors. The minister said he also planned to work with the various communities to make sure the project happened. Cadiz said he was optimistic that the various sites would be in a marketable state in the near future.
