Mem­bers of the new­ly-elect­ed ex­ec­u­tive of the T&T Po­lice Re­tirees As­so­ci­a­tion re­cent­ly paid a cour­tesy call on Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Dwayne Gibbs. A state­ment from the or­gan­i­sa­tion said dur­ing the meet­ing the del­e­ga­tion pledged sup­port to the com­mis­sion­er and his ad­min­is­tra­tion on be­half of the as­so­ci­a­tion. The state­ment said Gibbs ac­cept­ed the in­vi­ta­tion to be pa­tron of the as­so­ci­a­tion and promised to as­sist them in their aims and ob­jec­tives.

Gibbs, the state­ment added, ad­vised that the as­so­ci­a­tion's quest to as­sist in ad­dress­ing the up­surge in crime by of­fer­ing vo­ca­tion­al train­ing to mem­bers of the ser­vice in law en­force­ment re­lat­ed stud­ies, would be re­ferred to the provost of the Po­lice Train­ing Acad­e­my for fur­ther dis­cus­sion so that the as­so­ci­a­tion's con­cept would be in sync with the pro­jec­tions of the ser­vice.
