Tomorrow the T&T Guardian begins the countdown to the 50th anniversary of T&T’s Independence. The T&T Guardian is the only national daily newspaper whose tradition stretches back through those five decades. So to mark the occasion, in a unique series, the T&T Guardian will look back into its exclusive archives.

 

For 50 days, starting tomorrow, we explore 50 significant events that changed the course of T&T's history, from 1962 to 2012, as reported and photographed in our pages at the time. Through the triumphs and the terrors, the hopes and the heartbreak, only the T&T Guardian was there.
