A po­lice ex­er­cise in San­gre Grande over the week­end has re­sult­ed in four peo­ple be­ing ar­rest­ed for pos­ses­sion of nar­cotics. Be­tween 3 pm and 8 pm on Sat­ur­day, of­fi­cers of the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force led by ASP Neville Sankar, Sgt Awong-Cole and Cpl Vial­va raid­ed sev­er­al homes and ex­e­cut­ed search war­rants at Fish­ing Pond, Coalmine and Guaico.

At Fish­ing Pond, a 65-year old man was ar­rest­ed af­ter sev­er­al hand-rolled mar­i­jua­na cig­a­rettes were found on him. At Coalmine, a 57-year-old man was ar­rest­ed af­ter of­fi­cers dis­cov­ered half a ki­lo worth of cured mar­i­jua­na at his home. A 47-year old man of Gulf View, San Fer­nan­do, was al­so ar­rest­ed at the house.

At Cu­nar­ipo Road, Guaico, a 24-year-old man was ar­rest­ed af­ter he be­gan act­ing in a sus­pi­cious man­ner when he saw of­fi­cers. Of­fi­cers said sev­er­al grams of mar­i­jua­na were found in his front pants pock­et. WPC Joseph, PC Ho­sein and PC Wright laid the charges re­spec­tive­ly.
