Four held for narcotics in Grande police sweep

A police exercise in Sangre Grande over the weekend has resulted in four people being arrested for possession of narcotics. Between 3 pm and 8 pm on Saturday, officers of the Eastern Division Task Force led by ASP Neville Sankar, Sgt Awong-Cole and Cpl Vialva raided several homes and executed search warrants at Fishing Pond, Coalmine and Guaico.
At Fishing Pond, a 65-year old man was arrested after several hand-rolled marijuana cigarettes were found on him. At Coalmine, a 57-year-old man was arrested after officers discovered half a kilo worth of cured marijuana at his home. A 47-year old man of Gulf View, San Fernando, was also arrested at the house.
At Cunaripo Road, Guaico, a 24-year-old man was arrested after he began acting in a suspicious manner when he saw officers. Officers said several grams of marijuana were found in his front pants pocket. WPC Joseph, PC Hosein and PC Wright laid the charges respectively.
