For­mer ex­ec­u­tive chair­man of the Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (Ude­cott) Calder Hart says nei­ther he nor his wife, Sher­rine, was the own­er of a Sin­ga­pore bank ac­count. Hart was re­spond­ing to a Sun­day Guardian re­port that Hart had mil­lions of dol­lars in an un­named bank in Sin­ga­pore, the world's third rich­est na­tion. The re­port al­so said that was done, via a com­pa­ny known as Vi­sion­link, which lists Sher­rine Hart as one of its di­rec­tors.

In an e-mail sent to the Guardian on Sun­day, Hart said: "While Vi­sion­link is a com­pa­ny es­tab­lished by Mrs Hart to de­vel­op in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­o­gy so­lu­tions, it has nev­er un­der­tak­en any con­tracts in Trinidad and To­ba­go. "This is not the first time the me­dia, with their sup­posed Malaysian con­nec­tions, have failed to con­duct prop­er due dili­gence in­to false and ma­li­cious ru­mours about me or my fam­i­ly." Hart al­so de­nied all the al­le­ga­tions in the ar­ti­cle.
