Two employees of a Marabella sales outlet are expected to appear before a San Fernando Magistrate today charged with stealing a quantity of copper on Friday. The suspects were caught red-handed by police officers, attempting to make off with the copper.
Thinking they were successful in robbing a Marabella business place, the suspects, a 26-year-old driver of Naparima/Mayaro Road, Palmyra Village, and a 23-year-old attendant of San Fabien Road, Gasparillo, were held by Ag Corporal Bassarath and PC Moses of the Marabella Police Station.
According to reports, 39-year-old businessman, Navin Singh was at his Gopaul Lands home in Marabella, when around 11.30 am, he received information that two of his employees had loaded a quantity of copper wire onto a company truck, without permission. As a result, Singh, immediately contacted the police and they went in pursuit of the vehicle. The suspects were intercepted along the Southern Main Road. Upon checking, they found $4,000 worth of the product in the tray of the truck.
